Xbox one announcement

The mainstream internet has been abuzz asking what is up with all these nerds whining about the Xbox reveal? Well let me tell you from a rational perspective why it was a disappointment.  It simply did not speak to gamers. This event was for the mainstream.  So gamers all came away disappointed.  The problem is that this generation has gone on too long. Games have slowed to a trickle in anticipation of the new consoles and we are waiting for new content. We are tired of being told to be patient and wait until E3 or whatever presser is scheduled between now and then. This dud of  reveal for gamers has sent them into a frenzy. I completely understand that content needs to be saved for E3 but it doesn't mean that the Xbox event didn't leave me feeling sort of empty and forgotten as a loyal consumer of games.
